As an educator, I want my students to enjoy lessons as much as I enjoy teaching them. I love to have fun within the classroom and my lessons reflect this fun through engagement & experimentation with materials, as well as a holistic worldview lens to expand and encourage growth mindsets.

Complimentary Radial Symmetry Prints

Through this lesson, students in 4th grade will utilize complimentary colors and elements of art (line, shape, and space) while learning the basics of printmaking!

"Printmaking, and the process of making multiples, teaches purpose and intention behind mark-making and requires materials to be handled with care and attention. When creating abstract (non-representational) work, the elements and principles of design are stronger and require more thought and effort from students to bring the viewer’s focus to their artwork."

Illustrated Rabbits

Through this lesson, students will learn about the purpose of illustration and what makes each character unique. Students will then be guided to create their own version of an illustrated rabbit.

"It is important for students to understand that our creations stem from the world around us. Illustration lets students learn about different styles and ways of representing an object/person/place. This in turn allows students to express their perspective through art and validates/empowers their own style of drawing/seeing/doing. It also helps them to tell their own narratives through an illustrated story. "
